Beverly A. Watkins, 78, of Janesville died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. She was born on October 27, 1937 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Walter and France Kautz Watkins. Beverly graduated from Carroll College and received a master’s degree from U-W. Whitewater. She spent 5 years teaching overseas the children of military personnel. She then taught elementary education for 31 years in the Janesville School District. Beverly was an active member of Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church and had served as a volunteer at the Hedberg Public Library and for the Rock County
Historical Society.
Beverly Watkins is survived by her two sisters, Nancy Watkins of Rogers, AR, Merlene Hayes of Campbellsport, WI, her nieces, Karla Stumpf, Krista Sperger, Becky Green, Lisa Blanckaert, Paula Krueger and her nephew, Jeffrey Hayes as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church, 8605 East County Road A, Janesville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church with Rev. Jamie Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church in Beverly’s name. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
